Our 19th year of keeping our promises to the kids on the Fort Peck Native American Reservation was a hit, as you can see by the smiles on the faces of the kids. This is a time of peace, love, and celebration that goes on regardless of what else is happening in the world.
So many thanks go out to all of the donors, TNR members, volunteers, HPDP, school system volunteers (wrapping and sorting out), and the Thundering Buffalo Wellness center staff who made this year’s effort so memorable.
Many of the teachers commented about how excited the kids get as they look forward to our annual treks to the Reservation with the sleigh full of gifts, toys, and clothing.
In addition to the thousands of gifts and toys, we had hundreds of sneakers provided by Reebok for the kids.
And author Alicia Londos shared her new book, The Mermaid Who Found Her Home, with lots of little mermaids and unicorns.
I also want to extend a special thanks to Vernice Chopper and Kenny Smoker of HPDP for their exceptional attention and effort in coordinating everything. Without their tireless devotion to our projects, there would be no Love Has No Color on the Reservation.
Looking forward to seeing the kids again in the summer!
